I use a person-focused approach and my work as a counsellor is informed by several modalities including acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), rational emotive behaviour therapy and self-compassion based mindfulness. It is my belief that treatment should be individually tailored to get the most out of the therapy experience.
I possess the skills to empathetically listen and help you deal with stressful life situations, feel understood and empowered to change. I’d be happy to assist you with: anger, depression, anxiety, insomnia and other life’s struggles. I will be able to offer my empathy, to ensure you feel heard, understood, cared for and empowered to change.
I have experience working with diverse youth and adults on a variety of issues. My experiences working with marginalized refugee populations has provided me with the drive and desire to recognize individual strengths, opportunities for post-traumatic growth and seek social justice action. I recognize that many individuals may face systemic socioeconomic barriers to care and will seek to find opportunities to improve access to care for these marginalized populations.
I am governed by my college’s, the CRPO, code of ethics and standards of practice. I offer individual counselling sessions in person, in Toronto, and over secure video conferencing in Ontario for youth (age 15+) and adults. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. My fee is $150 per session (this includes applicable HST) after the free initial “good fit” chat via phone or video.
I am dedicated to offering affordable mental health care and am a part of an organization called Open Path Psychotherapy Collective and have two slots available for individuals that meet the requirements for lower cost therapy ($50-$60). As well as regular sliding scale for an additional two clients that may be experiencing financial hardship $75-$120 reduced rates.
